What to expect on Banpo-daero
This is not a fenced concert venue where you enter once and stay in one seat. Banpo-daero becomes a long pedestrian festival street divided into different zones. The Grand Stage is at the far end near the Seocho 3-dong intersection. The Welcome, Joy, and Healing stages, pop-up street shows, activity areas, art market, library zone, and food areas are spread along the road toward Seocho Station.
You can reserve one of the main concerts and build your day around the Grand Stage, or arrive without a ticket and move between smaller performances. The walk-in route also works well if you do not understand much Korean: marching bands, juggling, bubble shows, orchestral music, chalk drawing, and much of the street program need little translation.
The festival began in 2015 and has become one of Seocho-gu’s signature events. “Seoripul” is an old name associated with the area. The program mixes classical concerts with popular music and hands-on street activities.
Saturday, September 19: classical music, street performances, and late-night jazz
Saturday runs from 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. It combines the opening parade and daytime street programs with Night of Classics and Jazz Night. The Grand Stage concert requires a reservation, while the parade and Jazz Night are listed as walk-in programs.
Saturday schedule at a glance
| Time | Program | Where / booking |
|---|---|---|
| 1:00–1:30 p.m. | Opening Parade | Gyodae Entrance intersection toward Seocho Station; walk-in |
| 1:00–6:00 p.m. | Book Flow music library, activity booths, and art market | Festival zones along Banpo-daero; mostly walk-in |
| 1:30–4:00 p.m. | Giant Sketchbook | Sketchbook Zone; walk-in, chalk supplied on site |
| 1:30–5:30 p.m. | Seoripul Music Live | Joy and Healing stages; walk-in |
| 2:30–6:00 p.m. | Pop-up street performances | Along Banpo-daero; walk-in |
| 3:30–5:30 p.m. | Seoripul Choir Festival | Welcome Stage; walk-in |
| 6:30–8:30 p.m. | Night of Classics | Grand Stage; advance reservation required |
| 9:00–10:00 p.m. | Seoripul Jazz Night | Welcome Stage; walk-in |
The Opening Parade travels from the Gyodae Entrance intersection toward Seocho Station with youth cheerleaders, Brazilian percussion, a brass band, and tall balloon performers. Because it moves down the road, you do not need to stand in one exact place. Arrive before 1:00 p.m., walk a little away from the most crowded station exit, and leave room along the center of the road.

The most distinctive daytime activity is the Giant Sketchbook. From 1:30 to 4:00 p.m., a 2,610-square-meter section of the ten-lane road becomes a huge drawing surface. Around 100,000 pieces of chalk are prepared, and the official program says chalk will be handed out at the venue. Adults and children can both join; pick up chalk on site and add a drawing.

For music in the afternoon, Seoripul Music Live rotates performers between the Joy and Healing stages from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. The official lineup includes West African and Latin percussion, flute and piano, contemporary traditional performance, youth bands, crossover classical music, pop vocals, and fusion gugak. Pop-up performances run between 2:30 and 6:00 p.m., including a cotton-candy performance and creative traditional circus. These smaller stages do not require reservations, so you can stop whenever a nearby performance catches your attention.
The Choir Festival begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Welcome Stage and continues until 5:30 p.m. Bass-baritone Gil Byeong-min performs with community choirs whose members range from children to seniors.
Saturday evening: Night of Classics and Jazz Night
Night of Classics runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Grand Stage. The 2026 lineup includes crossover singer Son Tae-jin, soprano Hwang Su-mi, mezzo-soprano Bang Shin-je, tenor Kim Yo-han, baritone Kim Ji-hoon, conductor Bae Jong-hoon with the Seocho Philharmonic Orchestra, members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a string quartet, French trumpeter and conductor Sylvain Leclerc, and the Yang Seung-hee Gayageum Ensemble.
This concert needs a free advance reservation. Booking opens through the official Naver Booking page at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15. Each Naver ID can reserve up to two tickets.

After the classical concert, you can walk back toward the Welcome Stage for Seoripul Jazz Night from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Violinist Danny Koo, jazz pianist Cho Yoon-seung, and bandoneon player Ko Sang-ji are on the 2026 bill. Jazz Night is listed as free and does not appear among the Grand Stage programs that require advance reservations.
Sunday, September 20: yoga, children’s classical music, local stages, K-pop, and fireworks
Sunday’s main festival hours are 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., but there is one much earlier program. Good Morning Yoga takes place from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. on grass laid over the road at the Welcome Stage. The class is led by Yoga Boy and is designed for around 200 participants. Advance reservations are currently sold out. Canceled places return to the booking system in real time without a separate notice, so check the official booking page if you still want to attend.

| 1:00–6:30 p.m. | Seoripul Local Live | Welcome Stage; walk-in |

Kids Classic: Flying Symphony is a one-hour concert designed for children and open to other festivalgoers with reservations. Conductor Lee Byung-wook leads the Ditto Orchestra and the Berezka Piano Duo through Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. It starts at 11:00 a.m. on the Grand Stage. Free reservations open at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, with a maximum of two tickets per Naver ID.
At noon, the traditional opening parade brings daechwita court-procession music and beona nori spinning acts to the road. From 1:00 p.m., the Local Live stage features students and artists connected to Seocho, including Baekseok Arts University, Shinjoong Orchestra, a Korea National University of Arts brass ensemble, the National Gugak Center Contemporary Gugak Orchestra, and the Hyundai Motor Group Philharmonic Orchestra with performers from its employee clubs.
The Joy and Healing stages continue with harmonica, harp, gypsy jazz, cello, brass, percussion, pop, and crossover groups. From 2:30 to 6:00 p.m., the pop-up stages add a nonverbal juggling and balance show by Uncle Kid and a magic-and-bubble performance by Lee Han. Their performances repeat, which makes them easier to catch while moving through the festival.
Sunday evening: K-POP Night and fireworks
K-POP Night runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The 2026 lineup is Jaurim, Crying Nut, and singer-songwriter Lee Seung-yoon. If you want to see Korean live bands, Sunday is the stronger choice. Finale fireworks are planned after the show, although the organizer warns that they may be canceled if wind or other weather conditions make them unsafe. The Cleanup Parade follows from 9:30 to 10:00 p.m.
Reservations for the three Grand Stage programs open on Tuesday, September 15 through Naver Booking: Night of Classics at 2:00 p.m., Kids Classic at 4:00 p.m., and K-POP Night at 6:00 p.m. Each Naver ID can reserve up to two tickets. Demand may be high, so log in early and use the official booking links.

Do you need a reservation?
You can still see most of the festival without a reservation. The road festival, both parades, the Welcome, Joy, and Healing stage performances, Jazz Night, Local Live, Music Live, street shows, Giant Sketchbook, Book Flow library, art market, and most activity booths are open on site without advance online booking.
Advance reservations are required for these four programs:
- Night of Classics: Saturday, September 19, 6:30–8:30 p.m. Booking opens September 15 at 2:00 p.m.
- Kids Classic: Flying Symphony: Sunday, September 20, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Booking opens September 15 at 4:00 p.m.
- K-POP Night: Sunday, September 20, 7:00–9:00 p.m. Booking opens September 15 at 6:00 p.m.
- Good Morning Yoga: Sunday, September 20, 7:00–8:00 a.m. Reservations are currently sold out; canceled spots may return to the booking system in real time.
Some individual craft and experience booths use same-day registration or first-come service. That is different from the Grand Stage reservation. Look for signs marked 현장예약 (on-site reservation) or 선착순 (first come, first served) when you arrive.
Recruitment to join the Cleanup Parade has closed, but spectators can still watch it along Banpo-daero from 9:30 to 10:00 p.m.
How to reserve the Grand Stage concerts
- Open the official Seoripul Music Festival Naver Booking page. The same main information page links to the three concert products.
- Log in to your Naver account before the reservation opening time. The booking page is primarily in Korean, so browser translation may help.
- Choose the program: 클래식의 밤 for Night of Classics, 서리풀 키즈 클래식 [플라잉 심포니] for Kids Classic, or K-POP의 밤 for K-POP Night.
- Select the performance date and number of tickets. The official page allows a maximum of two tickets per person per Naver ID.
- Complete the free reservation and save the mobile confirmation. Read the confirmation page and any message sent before the event for the final check-in time, ticket-booth procedure, and entry instructions.
- On the day, go to the ticket booth in front of Hanmi Oil Seocho Gas Station. The booking page places it about 551 meters from Seocho Station Exit 3; Exits 2 and 3 both lead into the festival area.
If reservations sell out, the walk-in stages and street programs still run for most of the afternoon. The official notice does not promise a general unreserved entry area for the Grand Stage, so do not assume you can enter a reserved concert without a ticket.
How to book Good Morning Yoga
The official yoga reservation page currently shows the program as sold out. Canceled spots return to the reservation system immediately without a separate announcement, so check the page again if you still want to attend.
The class begins at 7:00 a.m., several hours before the regular Sunday festival program. Give yourself extra time because the road closure changes normal vehicle access, and follow any instructions in your booking confirmation about what to bring. The official program page identifies the Welcome Stage as the location.
Getting there and understanding the road layout
Take Seoul Subway Line 2 to Seocho Station and use Exit 2 or 3. The festival begins right outside this end of Banpo-daero. Do not confuse Seocho Station with Express Bus Terminal Station; both are in Seocho-gu, but the festival entrance is at Seocho Station. If you need help with fares or transfers, see our Seoul subway guide.
The festival road continues roughly 900 meters toward the Seocho 3-dong intersection. The Grand Stage is at the opposite end from Seocho Station, so allow 10–20 minutes to walk there depending on crowds and how often you stop. If you have a concert reservation, do not arrive at the station at the exact show time.
Banpo-daero between Seocho Station and the Seocho 3-dong intersection is fully closed to traffic from midnight at the start of Saturday, September 19 until 4:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21. Nearby bus routes are temporarily changed, and taxis may not be able to approach the entrance you expect. The festival provides no parking, so the subway is the simplest option.
Suggested festival routes
If you do not have a reservation
Choose Saturday and arrive around 1:00 p.m. for the parade. Join the Giant Sketchbook before it ends at 4:00 p.m., then move between Music Live, the choir festival, activity booths, and food. Take a break while the Grand Stage concert is underway, then return to the Welcome Stage before 9:00 p.m. for Jazz Night. This route includes the festival’s most unusual daytime activity and an evening of live music.
If you have a Night of Classics reservation
Arrive around 3:00 p.m., explore the smaller stages and sketchbook area, eat before the evening rush, and start walking toward the Grand Stage well before 6:30 p.m. After the concert, follow the road back toward Seocho Station and stop at Jazz Night from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m.
If K-POP Night is your priority
Come on Sunday around 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. Watch Local Live, the pop-up circus or bubble show, and one or two smaller music sets. Eat early, collect or check your concert ticket according to the reservation notice, and move toward the Grand Stage with plenty of time. Expect the subway and the Seocho Station end of the road to feel especially crowded after the 9:00 p.m. finish and fireworks.
Language, weather, and practical tips
The official website offers an English-language option, but some program details and the Naver booking process may still switch to Korean. Save these names on your phone: 서리풀뮤직페스티벌 (Seoripul Music Festival), 서초역 (Seocho Station), 클래식의 밤 (Night of Classics), 플라잉 심포니 (Flying Symphony), and K-POP의 밤 (K-POP Night).
The festival is outdoors on a wide road with limited shade in the middle. Wear shoes you can stand and walk in, bring water, and pack a light layer for the late evening. A small power bank is useful if your reservation, map, and translation tools are all on your phone.
Weather decisions are made with the forecast and conditions checked about three hours before each program. If an event is canceled, the organizer says it will announce the change on the official website and Instagram. Check again before leaving your hotel, especially if rain or strong wind is expected.
