Oomphyedit publishes practical English-language guides for international visitors to South Korea. This policy explains the standard we use when creating new guides and when reviewing or updating older articles.
Who We Write For
Our guides are written for travelers who may be using Korean transportation, apps, payment systems, airports, neighborhoods, restaurants, and local services for the first time. We focus on the small details that can be obvious to a local but confusing when you are visiting from another country.
How We Research Our Guides
Official sources come first
For rules, fares, schedules, entry requirements, app features, and other facts that may change, we look for primary sources such as Korean government websites, airport and transit operator pages, and the official help pages of the service or app being discussed.
Firsthand checks are identified clearly
Oomphyedit is run by a small Korea-based team. When we personally use a route, app, service, neighborhood, restaurant, or travel process, we may include what we observed as a field note. A firsthand observation is not presented as a universal guarantee, because experiences can vary by date, device, location, account, and operating conditions.
Sourced information and tested information are not the same
We try to distinguish between information we checked through an official source and steps we tested ourselves. When a guide includes a “Tested on,” “Field note,” or “Last verified” label, it refers only to the details covered by that label.
Prices, Routes, and App Features
Travel information changes. Fares, operating hours, routes, eligibility rules, app interfaces, and payment options may be updated without notice. For information that could materially affect a trip, readers should also check the official source linked in the article before making a purchase or relying on a specific schedule.
When we substantially review a guide, we update its modified date and may add a last-verified date. Older articles are reviewed progressively, so the absence of a verification label means the article has not yet been updated to the newer editorial format.
Use of AI-Assisted Tools
We may use AI-assisted tools to organize research, improve English wording, compare drafts, or support the editing process. AI output is not treated as an authoritative source. The Oomphyedit Team reviews material before publication, checks factual claims against official sources or firsthand use where practical, and removes unsupported or misleading details.
Editorial Independence
Recommendations are selected for their usefulness to travelers, not because a company has paid for a favorable ranking. If a page contains an affiliate link or sponsored relationship, we disclose it. Commercial relationships do not guarantee positive coverage, and we aim to include practical non-affiliate alternatives when they would help the reader.
