Yeoju Premium Outlets 2026: Transport, Stores, Discounts, Food & Tax Refund

Yeoju is worth the trip only if shopping is already a priority. If you are visiting Korea for palaces, neighborhoods and cafés, keep the day in Seoul. But if you plan to buy designer fashion, Korean labels, sportswear or several higher-priced items, the combination of outlet pricing, seasonal promotions and possible tourist tax refunds can justify the travel time.
Staying in central Seoul? The direct bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal is usually the easiest way to get there. Driving makes more sense if several people are shopping together, you expect heavy bags, or Yeoju is only one stop in a longer day. Before you go, check the brands you actually want, current promotions and your return transport—otherwise the outlet can turn into a long trip for very little saving.

Last verified: September 24, 2026. The listed Seoul and Yeoju departure schedule, ₩6,400 one-way fare, Gate 29 and EAST-entrance boarding points, seasonal opening hours, participating-store tax-refund rules, and the cited discount range were checked against current Shinsegae Simon and VISITKOREA information. Arrival times are estimates, and schedules, brand stock, promotions, store hours, and refund participation can change; reconfirm them shortly before travel.

Is Yeoju Premium Outlets Actually Worth Leaving Seoul For?

Main plaza and luxury stores at Yeoju Premium Outlets

If shopping is not a priority on your Korea trip, using half a day for an outlet visit is probably not worthwhile.
But if you are already planning to buy designer fashion, Korean labels, sneakers, sportswear or several higher-priced items, Yeoju can make sense as a shopping day rather than a sightseeing day.
The reason is not simply that "outlets are cheaper." At Yeoju, you can sometimes combine three layers of savings: outlet pricing on previous-season merchandise, limited-time brand promotions, and a tax refund for eligible international visitors.
Korea tourism information has described participating outlet merchandise at roughly 25% to 65% below regular retail prices, while Shinsegae Simon’s own 2026 promotions show real examples ranging from around 30% off to 50–70% or more on selected older-season items. The deepest discounts are usually tied to specific seasons, sizes or promotional stock, so do not assume every item will be 50% off.
There is another reason Yeoju can be more interesting than simply visiting a department store in Seoul: you can compare a large number of international luxury labels and Korean designer brands in one place. If you are flexible about the exact season or color, that concentration of brands can save both money and shopping time.

Is It Cheaper Than the U.S. or Europe?

Not automatically.
Designer pricing changes by country, exchange rate, local sales tax or VAT, and the exact item. European luxury brands can still be very competitive in Europe, and U.S. outlet shoppers may already have access to aggressive outlet promotions at home.
Do not assume Korea is always the cheapest country for every luxury purchase. The better reason to come is that Yeoju gives you a chance to stack outlet pricing, a current promotion and a Korean tourist tax refund while comparing many brands in one trip.
If you have one exact bag in mind, check the price before making the trip. If you have a broader shopping list, Yeoju becomes much easier to justify.

How to Decide Whether the Savings Are Real

Do not judge Yeoju by a generic “30% off” sign. Outlet stock can differ by season, color and model, so the useful comparison is the exact item or a genuinely comparable item.
Before making the trip, check four things:

  1. Current Seoul or home-country price: save the price of the item or product line you are actually considering.
  2. Yeoju brand promotion: outlet discounts can stack with temporary promotions, but only on selected stock.
  3. Tax-refund eligibility: treat any tourist tax refund as an extra benefit, not as a guaranteed percentage on every purchase.
  4. Return and exchange rules: a lower price is less attractive if the item is final sale or difficult to exchange after you leave Korea.
  5. If you have one exact luxury item in mind, compare prices before boarding the bus. If you have a broader list and are flexible about season, color or model, the trip is much more likely to pay off.

What Makes the Biggest Difference?

  1. Previous-season stock: this is where the basic outlet discount comes from.
  2. A brand promotion running that week: 2026 Yeoju promotions have included 30%, 50%, 60% and 70% markdowns on selected older-season merchandise.
  3. Tax refund eligibility: qualifying foreign visitors can receive a refund on eligible purchases at participating stores.
  4. Flexibility: the best deal may not be the newest color or exact style you had saved online.
  5. If you are shopping for a single current-season item, a Seoul department store may still be the better use of your time. If you are flexible and shopping across several brands, Yeoju is where the math becomes more interesting.

How to Get from Seoul to Yeoju Premium Outlets by Direct Bus

Step 1: Go to Seoul Express Bus Terminal

Take Seoul Subway Line 3, Line 7 or Line 9 to Express Bus Terminal Station and follow signs for the Gyeongbu/Yeongdong Line terminal.
The direct coach to Yeoju Premium Outlets leaves from Boarding Gate 29.

Important: There Is No City-Bus Route Number

This is where foreign travelers can get confused. The Seoul-to-Yeoju service is a direct intercity/express coach, not a numbered Seoul city bus.
So you are not looking for "Bus 123" or another route number. At the terminal, buy a ticket with the destination written as Yeoju Premium Outlets / 여주프리미엄아울렛 and go to Gate 29.
The route is operated by Dongbu Express. Tickets can be checked through the Korean express-bus booking system KOBUS, and schedules can change, so confirm your departure time before travel.

How Foreign Visitors Can Book the Bus

Use this sequence so a payment problem does not interrupt your travel plan: KOBUS English → Klook or Go Hanpass → Seoul Express Bus Terminal. Search for the same route at every step: Seoul Express Bus Terminal to 여주프리미엄아울렛 (Yeoju Premium Outlets).

1. Start with KOBUS English

Open KOBUS, Korea’s official integrated express-bus booking site, and switch to English (Japanese and Chinese are also available). Choose your departure, passenger count and seat, then proceed to payment. After booking, check whether the ticket is mobile-only or must be printed or collected at the terminal.
If the route appears but your foreign-issued card or account does not complete checkout, move to the next option. That does not by itself mean the bus is sold out.

2. Check Klook or Go Hanpass

The Korea Tourism Organization lists Klook and Go Hanpass as multilingual booking alternatives for Korean express and intercity buses, with foreign-issued credit-card support in its 2026 transport guidance. Search the same origin and destination. Availability varies, so use either service only if the direct Seoul–Yeoju Premium Outlets coach appears for your date.

3. Buy at the terminal

If online booking is unavailable or awkward, buy at a ticket machine or staffed counter at Seoul Express Bus Terminal. Korea Tourism Organization’s 2026 guide says foreign-issued cards are accepted at express/intercity bus ticket machines and counters. Show the Korean destination name, 여주프리미엄아울렛, then follow signs for the Gyeongbu/Yeongdong terminal area and confirm Gate 29 before boarding—gate assignments can change.
For English, Japanese or Chinese assistance, call the 1330 Korea Travel Hotline: +82-2-1330. On busy weekends, settle your return ticket before you start shopping.

Current Seoul → Yeoju Schedule

As of September 2026, the official outlet information lists the first bus from Seoul at 9:00 AM and the last bus at 7:00 PM. After a June 2026 service expansion, the route operates 8 round trips on weekdays and 10 round trips on weekends and public holidays.
A current weekday timetable lists these departures from Seoul Express Bus Terminal:

Depart Seoul Approx. arrival Fare
09:00 10:14 ₩6,400
10:00 11:14 ₩6,400
11:00 12:14 ₩6,400
13:00 14:14 ₩6,400
14:00 15:14 ₩6,400
15:00 16:14 ₩6,400
17:00 18:14 ₩6,400
19:00 20:14 ₩6,400

For a shopping day, the 9:00 AM bus is the best choice because it gets you there close to opening time.

How Long Does the Bus Take?

Plan on roughly 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes from Seoul to Yeoju in normal conditions. Traffic can change the actual arrival time.

How to Return from Yeoju Premium Outlets to Seoul

This part is easy once you know the exact pickup point.
Go to the bus stop in front of the EAST entrance and board the direct coach for Seoul Express Bus Terminal.
Again, there is no separate city-bus route number to memorize. The destination is Seoul Express Bus Terminal.
The official outlet guide lists the first return bus at 11:00 AM and the last at 9:00 PM.
A current weekday timetable lists:

Depart Yeoju Approx. arrival Seoul Fare
11:00 12:40 ₩6,400
12:00 13:40 ₩6,400
13:00 14:40 ₩6,400
15:00 16:40 ₩6,400
16:00 17:40 ₩6,400
17:00 18:40 ₩6,400
19:00 20:40 ₩6,400
21:00 22:40 ₩6,400

Weekend and holiday service is more frequent, but exact intermediate departure times can change. Check KOBUS on the day you travel rather than relying on an old screenshot or blog timetable.

Practical recommendation: If you take the 9:00 AM bus from Seoul, aim for a return around 7:00 PM unless you know you want a very long shopping day. The 9:00 PM final bus gives you a backup, but do not plan your entire day around catching the last seat without checking availability.

What If the Direct Bus Is Sold Out?

A rail-and-local-bus connection through Yeoju Station is the main backup, but the outlet’s official Korean and English directions currently disagree. The Korean page lists Exit 1 and bus 902, while the English page lists Exit 4 and buses 912, 912-2, and 912-5. Because local routes and boarding points can change, check the current outlet directions or ask station staff on the day rather than relying on one fixed bus number. For most visitors, the direct express coach from Seoul is still simpler because it avoids this transfer.

Going by Rental Car

Driving is a good option if:

  • you are traveling as a couple, family or group and can split rental costs;
  • you expect to buy several large shopping bags;
  • you want to combine the outlet with another stop outside Seoul;
  • you do not want to plan your day around bus departure times.

The outlet address is:
360 Myeongpum-ro, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do
경기도 여주시 명품로 360 여주 프리미엄 아울렛
From Seoul, the official driving routes use the expressway network via either the Gyeongbu/Yeongdong route or the Jungbu Expressway route, then continue toward Yeoju JC → Nam Yeoju IC → Yutongdanji / Premium Outlets.
Driving time varies heavily with your starting point and traffic. In light traffic it can be around an hour from parts of southern Seoul, but weekend traffic can make it significantly longer. If you rent a car, leave Seoul early.

Bus or Rental Car: Which Is Better?

Direct Bus Rental Car
Best for Solo travelers, couples, simple day trips Groups, heavy shopping, flexible itineraries
Cost About ₩6,400 each way per adult Rental + fuel + tolls
Transfers None None
Shopping bags Fine for normal shopping Much easier for large hauls
Schedule freedom Limited to coach times High

Which Stores Should You Visit First?

Shopping street and outlet stores at Yeoju Premium Outlets

Yeoju is large enough that walking randomly from store to store is inefficient. A practical order is:

1. Start with the Luxury Brands You Care About Most

Current official brand information includes names such as Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Fendi, Ferragamo, Moncler, Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Jimmy Choo, Valentino, Saint Laurent and Tom Ford, among others.
If you have a specific luxury purchase in mind, go there first. Outlet stock is size- and item-dependent, so the exact bag, shoe size or color you want may disappear during the day.

2. Move to Contemporary and Korean Designer Stores

After luxury, check contemporary and Korean fashion while you still have energy. The official directory includes brands such as Wooyoungmi, Theory, Sandro, S.I. Village, Studio Tomboy, System Homme, Time Homme and Tom Greyhound.
This category can be especially interesting if you want something that feels more Korean than simply shopping the same global luxury brands you can find at home.

3. Finish with Sportswear and Practical Shopping

Sports and outdoor brands are easier to browse later because there are more items where exact model or season may matter less. The directory includes Adidas, Columbia, The North Face, Discovery, K2, Descente, Titleist and other golf/outdoor brands.
Beauty and homeware are also worth leaving for later unless they are your priority. The outlet includes beauty stores carrying brands such as Estée Lauder, MAC, Clinique, Jo Malone London, Tom Ford, La Mer, Kiehl’s and Lancôme, plus home brands such as Le Creuset, Staub, Royal Copenhagen, Tefal and Fissler.

How Much Cheaper Is It Than a Department Store?

There is no single fixed outlet discount, and this is where you should be careful with claims such as “everything is 50% cheaper.”
Korea tourism information has historically described Yeoju outlet savings at roughly 25% to 65% off regular retail prices on participating merchandise, while Shinsegae Simon’s own 2026 promotions show that older-season pieces can go substantially deeper.

What Discount Levels Are Realistic?

Discounts change by brand, season, size, and stock. Instead of planning around an expired campaign, use these ranges only as a rough shopping framework:

Store type What you may find How to judge the deal
Luxury boutiques Selected previous-season items and limited outlet stock Compare the exact model and condition; the largest advertised percentage may apply to only a few items.
Contemporary and Korean designers Seasonal markdowns and multi-item events Flexible shoppers often find better value than shoppers looking for one exact current-season product.
Sportswear and lifestyle brands Broader size runs and older-season clearance Check the final outlet price against current retail pricing, not only the percentage sign.
Special clearance events Occasional deeper reductions on selected stock Treat these as temporary promotions, not a normal store-wide discount.

Check the official Yeoju promotion page during the week of your visit. If one product matters, contact the store directly because outlet inventory is not guaranteed.

Why This Can Be Worth Leaving Seoul For

The strongest value is not simply “outlet price.” It is the chance to combine an outlet markdown + a temporary brand promotion + a foreign-tourist tax refund when all three apply.
For example, imagine you are flexible enough to buy a previous-season designer piece instead of a current department-store release. A ₩1,000,000 full-price reference point discounted by 40% becomes ₩600,000 before any eligible additional promotion or tax refund. That does not mean the exact same SKU is always sold in both places—it is an illustration of why outlet shopping can create a meaningful price difference.
If you are traveling from the U.S. or Europe, do not assume Yeoju is always cheaper than outlets in your home country. Exchange rates, local sales tax or VAT, outlet-specific merchandise and regional pricing all matter. The smarter strategy is to compare the brands you actually want.
Before buying an expensive item, compare:

  1. the Yeoju outlet ticket price;
  2. any additional in-store or seasonal promotion;
  3. your foreign-tourist tax refund eligibility;
  4. the current Seoul department-store or duty-free price;
  5. the price back home if it is a global brand.
  6. The trip makes the most sense when you have several brands on your shopping list, are flexible about season or color, and are willing to browse for the best deal rather than chasing one exact product.

Tax Refund for Foreign Visitors

Yeoju Premium Outlets supports tax-free shopping at participating stores.
According to Shinsegae Simon’s official FAQ, eligible foreign visitors generally need to be staying in Korea for less than six months, and the minimum purchase amount for tax-free shopping is ₩15,000 at participating stores.
Look for stores marked with tax-refund services such as Global Tax Free, Global Blue or NICE Tax Free. Yeoju also offers on-site refund services for participating transactions.
Bring your passport. Do not assume every store participates.

What to Eat at Yeoju Premium Outlets

Restaurant area at Yeoju Premium Outlets

You do not need to leave the complex for lunch. Current outlet information lists a large selection of restaurants and cafés.

For an Easy Korean Lunch

Solsot is a good option if you want Korean-style pot rice without turning lunch into a long sit-down meal.

For Japanese Food

Onsen Tendong is useful when you want tempura rice bowls, while Sima Sushi works if you prefer sushi.

For a Quick Break

Cafe Knotted is an easy dessert/coffee stop, and there are also Starbucks locations and other cafés around the outlet.

If Your Group Cannot Agree

Go to the Taste Village area. It has multiple food options in one place, which is useful for groups where one person wants Korean food and someone else wants noodles, sushi or something more familiar.
Keep lunch fairly quick and save a longer café break for later. The outlet is large, and a 90-minute lunch can easily turn a productive shopping day into a rushed one.

A Simple One-Day Shopping Plan

8:20–8:40 AM

Arrive at Seoul Express Bus Terminal early enough to find the Gyeongbu/Yeongdong terminal area and Gate 29 without rushing.

9:00 AM

Take the direct bus to Yeoju Premium Outlets.

Around 10:15 AM

Arrive around opening time. Go straight to your highest-priority luxury or limited-stock stores.

12:30–1:30 PM

Lunch at Taste Village, Solsot, Onsen Tendong or another nearby restaurant.

1:30–4:30 PM

Shop contemporary fashion, Korean designers, sportswear, beauty and homeware.

4:30 PM

Coffee or dessert break. Recheck the stores where you wanted to think before buying.

5:00–6:30 PM

Finish purchases, organize tax-refund documents and make your way toward the EAST entrance.

7:00 PM

Take the direct coach back to Seoul if that departure works for your travel date.

Opening Hours

Current official Yeoju information lists general store hours as 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM during the May–October period. During November–April, weekday Monday–Thursday closing can be earlier at 8:30 PM, while Friday–Sunday and public holidays generally run to 9:00 PM. Restaurants generally open from 11:00 AM, with last orders before closing.
Hours can vary by individual shop, and the outlet closes on certain major holidays such as Lunar New Year’s Day and Chuseok Day, so check before making the trip.

Final Tips Before You Go

  • Screenshot or save your return bus information before you start shopping.
  • If you care about one specific luxury brand, visit it first instead of walking the outlet in geographic order.
  • Bring your passport for tax-refund shopping.
  • Check the Shinsegae Premium Outlets app/site for same-week promotions before buying.
  • If you are buying luggage, cookware or several pairs of shoes, seriously consider a rental car.
  • If you are taking the bus, remember: Seoul = Gate 29. Yeoju return = EAST entrance bus stop.
  • Do not search for a numbered Seoul bus route. The Seoul–Yeoju service is a direct express coach.
